Hi @Anonymous this did not work. Can you tell me is there any specific limit attached to adding mail contacts in a tenant?

When i tried to add contact using Powershell, I encountered below error:

Yes, there is usually a limit to the number of mail contacts you can add in your tenant. However, the exact limits may vary depending on the subscription plan you have.

You can use the command to see how many contacts are currently in the tenant.

(Get-MailContact). Count

Clean up unwanted contacts regularly to make space.

If you've reached the limit of contacts and need to add new ones, you may need to upgrade your subscription.

Hi @Xintao Mao , thank you for your response. Could you please guide me on how to remove multiple unwanted contacts at once? Currently, I can only delete contacts individually from the admin center, which is quite impractical. Additionally, could you inform me where Microsoft specifies the maximum number of contacts allowed per subscription? I would also appreciate detailed information on the contact limits for each subscription type. Thank you!

As you said, since the deletion operation is irreversible, bulk deletion of contacts is not supported in the EAC for the time being due to security concerns, which is by design. This is also mentioned in the official Microsoft documentation Manage mail contacts in Exchange Online | Microsoft Learn

You can try the following command in Power Shell to delete multiple contacts at once.

$contacts = Get-MailContact -Filter {Name -like "unwanted user1" -or Name -like "unwanted user2"}
$contacts | ForEach-Object {
Remove-MailContact -Identity $_.Identity -Confirm:$false
}
