    Hi Digital MktAQ,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question, we’re happy to provide further information on creating an insertion order!

An insertion order is a contract in which you agree to spend up to a certain amount (less than or equal to your given credit line) over a given period of time. Advertisers use insertion orders to manage spend and budgets within their monthly invoice accounts. With this being said, before you can create an insertion order, you will have to ensure that you have applied and been approved to use monthly invoice billing as the payment method for your account. Below, I will go into detail on how to apply for monthly invoice billing, as well as the requirements you must meet in order to be qualified.

How to apply for monthly invoice billing and the requirements

Due to the fact that monthly invoicing involves a credit line that allows your business to accumulate spend, you’ll be required to undergo a credit check.

You will also need to meet the following requirements to qualify:

    • Be a registered business for at least 1 year
    • Have an active Bing Ads account in good standing for at least 1 year
    • Spend at least $5,000 USD (or local equivalent, which can vary by country/region) for any 3 of the last 12 months.

If you meet all of these requirements, you will need to contact support to apply. Please note, you may be asked to provide further information to determine your eligibility, however, this is determined on a case by case basis.

In the event that you are approved, we (Bing Ads) will notify you and your account will be switched to monthly invoice billing. Upon completion of this step, you can create an insertion order. Below, I have provided detailed instructions on how to create an insertion order. For more information on monthly invoice billing, please see our What you need to know about monthly invoice billing Bing Ads Help Article.

How to create an Insertion Order

    1. Click the gear icon , and then click Accounts & Billing.
    2. Click the Insertion Orders tab.
    3. Click Create order and select Insertion order to open the order form.
    4. Select the account.
    5. Enter the Start date, End date, and Budget amount.
    6. Optional: Enter a purchase order number that you receive from your company's expense system to help track this insertion order.
    7. Optional: Enter an Order name.

**** It is strongly suggested that you create an order name that is simple enough to track if you are managing multiple insertion orders **** 8. Optional: Enter Notes that might be helpful to you regarding this insertion order. 9. If you want to add more insertion orders, click Add another. 10. When you are done, click Submit.

Remember, your insertion order will become active on the start date you set. If you have an account manager that is creating an insertion order for you, you will have to approve it so that it can become active on the set start date.
