Will there be any down time or data loss when I scale Azure Cache for Redis from P1 to P2?

We have an instance of Azure Cache for Redis with Premium tier - P1.

We want to scale up it to "P2". We want to know:

Will there be any down time? (e.g. The client can't access the Redis and commands are failed by it) If so, how long is the down time as expected?
Will the data loss since the scaling up?

Please be informed that there will be a minimal downtime while scaling your resource for 15-20 minutes. 2.Will the data loss since the scaling up?
No there will be no data loss while scaling up.

I have some doubts regarding your mention of ‘minimal downtime for 15-20 minutes’. Based on my understanding, during vertical scaling (SKU change) of ‘Azure Cache for Redis’, the process generally involves: creating a new instance -> provisioning the instance -> data copy -> load balancer switch.

I believe the 15-20 minutes you mentioned likely refer to the steps before the load balancer switch, which should be considered preparation rather than downtime. The actual downtime should be the moment of the load balancer switch.

From my tests, if the Redis load is not high, the switch usually completes within seconds. The Redis-cli client reports a 'timeout reading', then retries and succeeds.
