Access 365 error " number of bytes of a unicode string is not even"

I have an access database from office 365. I am getting serious problems with accessing data. I have a split database. When I try to open one of the tables in the back end it gives this error " number of bytes of a Unicode string is not even". I cannot pull up some individuals, but this is sporadic. This just happened this past few days.

    What have you tried in order to troubleshoot or fix the problem?

    Apparently this happens with only one table that might "some individuals". Is that the case?

    Are other users having the same issue?

    Have you attempted a compact and repair?

    Try a backup copy. Is the issue present there as well.
