Hi,

We all know Solver can only work on limited variable cells and constraints.

How to increase it within settings?

How to increase it through IT guy?

Can Frontline Solver take more variable cells and constraints?

Regards

    Hi Yasasw,

"No, the standard Excel Solver has a built-in limit on the number of decision variables you can use, typically around 200, and you cannot directly increase this limit within Excel itself; however, if you need to solve problems with a larger number of variables, you can consider using a third-party add-in like "Solver" from Frontline Systems, which allows for significantly more variables depending on the chosen plan."

"Yes, you can significantly increase the number of variables used by Solver in Frontline Systems by upgrading to their "Premium Solver" or "Analytic Solver Optimization" products, which can handle much larger optimization problems with thousands or even millions of decision variables compared to the standard Excel Solver limitations; essentially allowing you to use a much higher number of variables in your model."

    "Premium Solver capabilities:

Frontline's Premium Solver allows you to solve problems with significantly more variables, depending on the specific version and your needs.

    • Analytic Solver Optimization: For even larger problems, Frontline offers "Analytic Solver Optimization" which can handle extremely large optimization problems with thousands to millions of variables."

    Ok Shane Demenshire,

Why is excel not allowing atleast 1000 variables?

It costs 1000$ to buy Frontline premium and optimising consultants are charging the same.

Shame on everyone in UK for inventing premium services and hindering freelance research.
