Ms Project as has been known is not workable on the MacBook like ms excel etc. However, I notice when you login to office.com there is ms project application there. Will it work effectively as it would if installed on a windows laptop?

    Francis Doe,

In simple terms, Project for the Web is the only version you can use directly on a Mac via a browser. And Project for the Web has very limited capability compared to Project desktop. If you need full Project capability, you will either need to use a Windows based PC or use a virtual PC emulator such as Parallels with Windows installed.

For reference, I use an iMac with Parallels.

    Dear Francis Doe,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. I am happy to help you.

Will it work effectively as it would if installed on a windows laptop?

You visitthe Office portal through your browser and see that the Project application is Project for the Web.

The Project Desktop client application and the Project for the Web (Microsoft Project for the web will soon become Microsoft Planner) supported in browsing are not the same application, in general, Project for the Web is limited by the browser and can use fewer features than the client.

You can refer to the following documents for detailed description of Project for Web and the differences between different applications:

What is Project for the web? - Microsoft Support

More information for you to reference:

See what you can do with Project for the web.

I hope my explanation can answer your question. I wish you all the best.

    Sincerely,
