Latest OneNote - Version 16.94 (25020927)

On MacOS - 13.7.4 (22H420)

Happens every time I do this.

a - search for something in a notebook

b - Select a result

c - hit the 'Show navigation' in the left hand tools

d - all the page titles are truncated - i.e. 7 characters then .... see screenshot attached

only work around is to select another section, then move back to where you are - but this is a real pain to do every time.

Same thing happens when you go to recent notes - and select show navigation

can this be fixed please ?

    Hi Mark

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I realize that you've encountered a problem with " Page titles truncated in OneNote on MacOS ", and I understand how you feel. Don't worry, I'll do my best to help you.

The truncation of page titles in OneNote for MacOS after using search or accessing Recent Notes is likely a UI refresh bug in the current version (16.94). Here's how to address it:

    1. Immediate Workaround:
Continue using the section-switching method you mentioned, or try manually resizing the navigation pane by dragging its edge. This might force the titles to redraw correctly.
    2. Check for Updates:
Go to the Mac App Store > Updates to ensure OneNote is updated. Microsoft often patches such issues in newer releases.
    3. Report the Bug:
Submit feedback directly to Microsoft via OneNote:
Help > Send Feedback in the app menu. Include details like your OS version and steps to reproduce the issue.
    4. Temporary Fixes:
      • Restart OneNote or your Mac.
      • Reset OneNote’s cache by navigating to ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.onenote.mac/Data/Library/Caches and deleting cache files (backup first).

If the issue persists, it may require a fix from Microsoft in a future update. Keep the app updated and monitor release notes for UI-related patches.

I hope these suggestions have been helpful to you!

Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions or need any further help.

    Best regards
