How do I fix the SendObject failure with MS Access and the new version of Outlook

  1. For years I have used the SendObject to send a Report from MS Access as a PDF attachment using Outlook.
  2. Now is seems none of my previous code to automate emails from within MS Access works anymore.

I have searched for a solution but have not been able to find a solution that works.
Is there a workaround so I don't have to write hundreds of lines of code and so I can get functional again asap
Or is there a solution - new code requirements - to get my email automation working again?

If you're talking about the 'New Outlook' there is nothing you can do directly. It is NOT possible to automate the New Outlook in any manner.

We've asked the Access Dev Team about this for months, if not longer, and they have never given any workarounds to date.

Therefore, you have to look to switch to use

The whole thing is a mess and for the average developer a little bit overwhelming. This is why I've been advising my clients to hold off switching to the 'New Outlook' for as long as they can.

I'd also urged you to send your feedback about your experience and how it has affected you via their feedback mechanism!

    Hi,

If you want to use SendObject or other simple methods, you currently have to switch back to classic Outlook, which will be supported at least until October 2029. The methods required for New Outlook are much more complicated.

See also my article from December. I will probably add a slightly easier method to deal with New Outlook soon, but it still won't be as easy as SendObject. For that, we'll have to wait for Microsoft.

Your post got me thinking and I decided to write a post on the matter and will try to keep it up-to-date and add new idea when they come to me. Should you like to review it use the following link:
