Dear ARNEL SACAYLE,
Good day! Thank you for sharing your concern with us here in the Microsoft Community.
We apologize for any inconvenience you may encounter when using our services/products. We need specific information from you to better understand the issue you are experiencing:
- Please confirm if you are using a business/ education account or a personal account?
- Could you please screenshot step-by-step your issue?
In the meantime, kindly try these following steps:
Check the time synchronization on your phone
Microsoft Authenticator is based on precise time settings.
- On Android: Go to Settings > System > Date & Time and enable "Use Network-Provided Time."
- On iPhone: Go to General Settings > Date & Time > and enable Set Automatically.
Make sure the account is set up for OTP
Open the Microsoft Authenticator app:
- Tap the account name.
- Check if it shows a 6-digit code that updates every 30 seconds.
- Otherwise, the account may not be properly configured for OTP. You may need to remove and re-add the account with the QR code or configuration key from your organization's security portal.
Enable notifications
Make sure push notifications are allowed:
- On Android: Settings > Apps > Authenticator > Notifications: Make sure they're enabled.
- On iPhone: Settings > Authenticator > Notifications: Allow alerts.
Try logging in with OTP instead of push
If push notifications aren't working:
- On the sign-in screen, click "I can't use my Microsoft Authenticator app right now."
- Choose the "Use a verification code from my mobile app" option.
- Open Authenticator and manually enter the 6-digit code.
If no code is displayed, the account may not be properly configured for OTP.
Update the App
- Ensure you're using the latest version of Microsoft Authenticator. Outdated versions may not support current features.
Your provided information will help us determine your issue clearly and provide further troubleshooting steps.
Kind Regards,
