How to change the email address that I use at Q&A

I'm still able to login to Q&A with my old, now-defunct, email address. Notifications from Q&A that a question has a new reply will not reach my email. There may be other negative implications that I'm unaware of.
Please tell me how to deal with this.

    Hello. Thanks for reaching out. To change the email used for Microsoft Q&A, you need to update the email preferences in your Q&A profile for notifications, and if you want to change the login email itself, you must update your Microsoft account alias at account.live.com. Once you add a new email alias, you can set it as primary and remove the old one.
