Hi, there are 2 upcoming Azure warnings due Sep 30 that I am concerned about -

Upgrade to Azure Standard Load Balancer

and

Upgrade to Standard SKU public IP address

I am concerned if my developer or I do this on our own, the site will be affected since we have never done this. Does support offer the option of doing this for us, even at a cost?

Thank you.

    Hello @Amir Watynski,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A

Yes, you can do it yourself by following the official documentation.

    https://v4.hkg1.meaqua.org/en-us/azure/load-balancer/upgrade-basic-standard-with-powershell

Microsoft has announced that Basic Load Balancer and Basic SKU Public IP Addresses will be retired on September 30, 2025. After this date, functionality cannot be guaranteed, and you risk service disruptions if you don’t upgrade to Standard SKU. Standard SKUs offer enhanced features like higher availability (99.99% SLA), zone redundancy, and improved security. Continuing to use Basic SKU resources post-retirement may lead to downtime or degraded performance, affecting your site’s availability.

    https://docs.azure.cn/en-us/virtual-network/ip-services/public-ip-basic-upgrade-guidance

Microsoft provides PowerShell scripts to automate the upgrade process, reducing manual errors. These scripts verify compatibility, back up configurations, upgrade Public IPs to Standard SKU, and migrate settings to a new Standard Load Balance

Note: Plan a Maintenance Window and schedule the migration during a low-traffic period to minimize impact. Communicate downtime to stakeholders.
