Intel AX200 wireless adapter regularly disconnects

I have an HP x360 laptop with an Intel WiFi 6 AX200 wireless adapter.

Once or twice a day at random times, the laptop drops off of my wireless network. No, it does not happen when I am using any particular application or doing any specific activity. It is random. I am not a heavy network user, this is not a laptop used for gaming.

After it's in this mode, clicking the network icon to view available networks shows no networks available. No other devices on the network are impacted (phones, other computers, etc).

This was an issue on this laptop with Windows 10, and has continued since I updated to Windows 11.

Yes, the drivers for the AX200 are the latest directly from Intel (23.160.0.4) and yes, I've tried fully uninstalling (AND YES DELETING) and reinstalling the drivers. The issue also existed with old drivers. None of the driver updates have resolved this.

My old solution for this was to restart the entire laptop, which would resolve the issue. Now, I go to Network Connections -> Diagnose -> Restart Adapter and it works every time.

Are there any commands I can run the next time this happens to gather more information or logging about what is going on?

    Hi!

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for the information. Yes, you can gather a bit of information the next time the AX200 disconnects, instead of just restarting it.

You can run PowerShell and enter this command: netsh wlan show wlanreport

This generates an HTML report at:

    %ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\WlanReport\wlan-report-latest.html

This is how to go to the address where the report is:

    • Open File Explorer.
    • In the address bar, paste: %ProgramData%
    • Hit Enter. It will take you to C:\ProgramData. (This folder is normally hidden, but the shortcut works even if hidden files are not shown.)
    • From there, go into:
      • Microsoft
      • Windows
      • WlanReport
    • Double-click wlan-report-latest.html to open it in your browser.

From here we can check and wait for the data(since it randomly happens) and see what would be the result of the report.

@IGYQ it just happened at about 10:58AM and I've generated the report.

It looks like there is a disconnect event

followed by a capability change,User's image

There are several instances in the report of "The driver disconnected while associating."

Here is the detail of the event this morning:
