    Hello,

Thank you for posting question on Microsoft Windows Forum.

Based on your query of how to log in to a Windows 11 laptop with the FIDO2 USB key.

Well! To register a FIDO2/“Security key” in Settings → Accounts → Sign-in options or in your Microsoft account’s Security Info which lets you use the key for your account (web/apps and Microsoft sign-ins). To use the physical key to unlock the Windows sign-in / lock screen you might need an extra Windows-side support enabled like Windows Hello / FIDO2 device logon / Entra/Azure AD or a policy.

    1. Plug your FIDO2 USB key into your laptop.
    2. Navigate to this path SettingsAccounts → Sign-in options → Security Key → Manage
    3. A Windows Security dialog will pop up. You may be prompted to touch the flashing button on your USB key.
    4. You will be prompted to create a PIN.
    5. You will be prompted to touch the key again to confirm its presence.
    6. Name your key.
