My minecraft account was hacked, stolen, and resold to a random person on the internet

There's been a scam going around particularly in the minecraft online space, where other people will ask you if you want to join a "tournament" with them. If you say yes, they will direct you to a server where the supposed tournament will take place. However, when you try to enter that "tournament" it requires you to "verify" your minecraft account. When you go through the steps of the "verification", you are required to tell your minecraft username, email that is associated with your minecraft account, and your 6 digit verification code that is sent to your email.

Needless to say, do not ever, ever give out that 6 digit code. People are really sneaky on the online space and these people try to steal your minecraft account in hopes of reselling it for cheap and thus, turning a profit. Once they steal your minecraft account they will immediately change the email and password that is associated with your minecraft account which makes it almost impossible to recover it.

I am telling this story because this scam was a scam that I unfortunately fell victim to. I want to educate everyone out there to be wary of this scam, and please be safe out there. Don't make the same mistake I did. In fact, the only way I'm even posting on this community discussion board is from an entirely different microsoft email.

With that being said, is there anyway for an account to be recovered despite having the email, password and phone number changed? I have been trying for a little over a week, contacting all the support I can find but it honestly seems like the 30 dollars that I spent on minecraft is gone forever.
