Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Regarding your issue, may I kindly ask a few questions to help understand your issue better:
- I saw that you posted your question for Excel under the Business category so to better support you, could you please confirm whether you're using a Home account (e.g., Gmail, Hotmail) or a Business/Education (typically associated with a domain name like your company or school) account?
- Does this issue occur when using Excel on a desktop device?
- Are other users in your organization experiencing the same problem?
- Do other Microsoft 365 apps (such as Word or Outlook) work normally on the same iPad?
- Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Excel to see if that resolves the issue?
- Have you tried toggling Airplane Mode on and off, or disabling Wi-Fi when the app freezes and then re-enabling it?
It appears that many users are encountering the same issue like you so I highly suggest reporting this issue within Excel app on your iPad by tapping your profile icon (top left) and select Help & Feedback.
If possible, ask your IT Admin to report it on Microsoft 365 admin center as well via Microsoft 365 admin center > Health > Service Health > Report Issues.
You can include screenshots or steps to reproduce the issue, so this sends feedback directly to the product team.
The more users report this issue, the faster Microsoft can recognize its impact and prioritize releasing an update to resolve it.
I apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused you and hopefully Microsoft will release an app update soon which will help solve this issue for you and other affected users.
