Hi,

I'm an Microsoft 365 Family subscriber.

I noticed that OneNote on my MacBook Air hasn't synced my notes in a few days since the last update to 16.102 I'm guessing.

MacOS Version 15.6.1 (24G90)
OneNote Version 16.102.1 (25101829)

Steps I've tried:

  • Manual syncing of the notebook "Sync This Notebook" but the Sync Status is stuck on "Syncing".
  • Checked for updates on the App Store and updated to the latest version I was on 16.102 and updated to 16.102.1.
  • Restarting OneNote, no change.
  • Restarting the computer, no change.
  • Opening the Notebook in OneNote Cloud: I can see the Notebook and all older Notes under it but not the ones added in the last few days. I also can't see changes I've made to existing Notes.
  • I tried Closing the Notebook but I get the error message:
    • This notebook hasn't completed syncing all of your changes. If you close this notebook, any unsynced sections will be moved to "Misplaced Sections", at the bottom of your notebook list.
    • I aborted/cancelled that as I don't want to lose my new & edited notes.
  • I did manually backup my Notebook from Preferences > Backup > Backup All Notesbook Now

Please let me know what else I can try without losing all changes and new notes as I use it daily for multiple things and have too many notes/changes to update manually (which is why I didn't delete and reinstall the app yet).

Hello Firas Alragom, Thanks for posting this in our community. I understand how important your notes are for your daily work and how frustrating it must be when OneNote isn’t syncing properly.

First, make sure you have a stable internet connection. Then check your account settings by going to OneNote > Preferences > Accounts and confirm you’re signed in with the correct Microsoft 365 account. If you’re already signed in, try signing out and then signing back in to refresh the authentication.

You can also review this article for additional troubleshooting steps: Fix issues when you can't sync OneNote

    Kind regards,

    John Oli
