Hi @Wozniakm,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A Forum.
It seems you're encountering a specific issue with uploading files and folders through the OneDrive tab in Teams, which can be a bit confusing due to how Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint interact.
To help me better understand the situation and assist you effectively, could you please share a bit more detail on the following: Could you please share a screenshot of error message that you're seeing?
This will help us better understand the context and provide more targeted support. Any additional information will help us better understand and support you.
In the meantime, you can refer to some recommendations to troubleshoot:
- Try uploading via SharePoint directly
- Open the Team's SharePoint site and try uploading the folders/files there. This bypasses some of the limitations of the OneDrive module in Teams.
- Check Library Settings in SharePoint
If you have admin access:
- Go to Library Settings, click Versioning Settings.
- Scroll to Draft Item Security > set it to Any user who can read items. This ensures that draft versions of documents are visible to all users with read access.
- At the section labeled Require Check Out > Require documents to be checked out before they can be edited?
- Select No, then click OK.
- If you need to share from OneDrive:
- Upload the file to OneDrive first.
- Use Share link in Teams chat or channel.
Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.
I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this.
Thank you for your patience and your understanding. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
I'm looking forward to your reply.
