I am writing to request assistance with a BitLocker issue. I am unable to find or access the recovery key for my device, and as a result, I cannot unlock my drive.

Dear Microsoft Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to request assistance with a BitLocker issue. I am unable to find or access the recovery key for my device, and as a result, I cannot unlock my drive.

Here are my details:

  • Device type: MSI GF63 Thin 11UCX 
  • Operating System: Windows 11 Professional Version 2009 Build OS 10.0.26100.6899 Serial Number 9S716R6121603ZN7001260
  • Microsoft Account (used for sign-in): ******@gmail.com
  • BitLocker ID: IDB7CF4C

I have already checked my Microsoft account recovery page at https://account.microsoft.com/devices/recoverykey but could not find the key listed.

Could you please advise if there are any additional methods to recover my BitLocker recovery key or unlock my drive?

    Hi Ian,

    The drive cannot be unlocked without the key. If the key is not stored in your account, check perhaps if you have another account that may have been used. Otherwise your only choice would be to erase the drive and start over with an empty drive like it was brand new (losing all the encrypted data).
