on Windows 10 22H2 and it works...

This is an interesting work-around to avoid the official product page on Microsoft.com, where the download button is greyed out and a message says "this app is not available in your market." Perhaps it still is available outside the US? In any case, anyone determined to obtain an install package could take this approach. Thanks to Castorix31.

I relied on this tool heavily to clean up broken STLs without the headache of meshmixer, and it was actually mor reliable. Even if left without updates, just pulling it from the store shows the big problem with MS's 'modern apps' approach. As bad as Spotify saying they're better than physical media then pulling random tracks from favourite bands without warning or explanation. Google are even worse (gdrive filesync tool getting dumped was my Rubicon moment) but c'mon MS, be better than that.
Anyway - Castorix, you're a diamond; your fix worked perfectly for me today (13th dec '25) and for Allen Cobbs concern, it didn't matter that I used the UK store (https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9wzdncrfj3t6?hl=en-US&gl=GB ) & prob works for other locales too. The actual package is still physically on the store servers and so downloadable via that 1st link which I reckon is down to there being so many packages on there that it's cheaper to pay for the storage indefinitely than pay people to weed out the obsoleted packages. But there's no guarantee there so if you even have a vague notion you might need it at some point, grab it now!

3D Builder was deprecated by Microsoft in July 2024, it is no longer supported, not avaialble in any modern version of Windows and has been removed from the Store, so it is no longer downloadable either.
