For the past two hours, Ive been trying to access https://excel.cloud.microsoft/en-us/
but all i get is an infinite loading screen, where the logo keeps popping up.

I dont believe it is a problem on my end since this is the only site that fails to load, but if it is id appreciate a quick response.

  • It seems to work on chrome based browsers but not Firefox

Thank you, for an assistance

    Hello @Allen Sajju

Thank you for posting your question in the Q&A Forum.

Based on your description, the infinite loading screen in Firefox may be caused by browser-related factors. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. Clear Site-Specific Cache & Cookies

This is the most common fix. Let's clear the data just for Microsoft's site.

    • In Firefox, click the padlock icon in the address bar while on the stuck excel.cloud.microsoft.com tab.
    • Click Clear cookies and site data...

    User's image

    • Click the Remove button.
    • Close the tab, open a new tab, and try loading Excel Online again.

For your reference: Clear cookies and site data in Firefox | Firefox Help

    2. Test in Firefox Private Mode (Key Diagnostic)

    • Click the menu button (three horizontal lines) in Firefox.
    • Select New private window
    • In this new private window, try to log in to excel.cloud.microsoft.com

    User's image

If it WORKS in Private Mode, you will have to find which add-on is causing the block: Disable or remove Add-ons | Firefox Help

If it FAILED even in Private Mode, your main security setting might be the issue.

    • While on the stuck Excel Online tab, click the shield icon to the left of the address bar.
    • At the top, toggle the switch for "Enhanced Tracking Protection" to OFF for this site.
    • The page will reload.

This will add an exception for Excel Online, allowing it to load all necessary scripts: Enhanced Tracking Protection in Firefox for desktop | Firefox Help

Please let us know if these steps resolve the problem or if you need further assistance. We’re here to help.

If you are experiencing an infinite loading screen when trying to access Microsoft Excel Online, it could be due to several reasons. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your internet connection is stable and functioning properly. Try accessing other websites to confirm.
    2. Clear Browser Cache: Sometimes, cached data can cause issues with loading web pages. Clear your browser's cache and cookies and then try accessing Excel Online again.
    3. Try a Different Browser: If the issue persists, try accessing Excel Online using a different web browser to see if the problem is browser-specific.
    4. Disable Browser Extensions: Some browser extensions can interfere with web applications. Temporarily disable any extensions and check if that resolves the issue.
    5. Check for Service Outages: Occasionally, Microsoft services may experience outages. You can check the Microsoft 365 Service Health status to see if there are any ongoing issues affecting Excel Online.
    6. Update Your Browser: Ensure that your web browser is up to date, as outdated versions can lead to compatibility issues.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may want to reach out to Microsoft support for further assistance.
