If your OneNote for Mac is not syncing, it could be due to several reasons. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your MacBook is connected to the internet, as syncing requires an active connection.
    2. Sign In: Make sure you are signed in to your Microsoft account in OneNote. If you're not authenticated, syncing will not occur.
    3. Check Sync Status: You can check the sync status by selecting the notebook and looking for any error messages that might indicate the problem.
    4. Force Sync: Sometimes, you can force a sync by selecting the notebook and using the sync option in the menu.
    5. Update OneNote: Ensure that you have the latest version of OneNote installed. If there are updates available, install them.
    6. Restart OneNote: Close and reopen the OneNote application to see if that resolves the issue.
    7. Check Notebook Size: If your notebook or any section exceeds the size limit, it may prevent syncing. Make sure no section is larger than 50 MB.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to check the Microsoft support resources for more detailed troubleshooting steps.

    Hi Rick21,

Thanks for reaching out. I know it’s frustrating when OneNote on your MacBook won’t sync, especially if you rely on it daily. This usually happens because of sign-in issues, cached data problems, or a temporary connection glitch.

I'd suggest signing out and back in to refresh authentication. Next, clear the OneNote cache by going to ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.onenote.mac/Data/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/User Data/OneNote/ and deleting its contents, this only removes local cache, not your cloud notes.

Let me know how it goes. If you found this helpful, marking it as helpful might make it easier for others to find the solution. Thanks!

    Regards,
    Carlo
