I have just bought a subscription for Microsoft Teams for Business. After payment the website froze and didn't move to downloading Teams. The only versions downloaded are the Free version. How do I download the paid version of Teams. Thanks

If you have purchased a subscription for Microsoft Teams for Business but are only able to download the free version, you can follow these steps to download the paid version:

    1. Check your subscription status: Ensure that your subscription has been activated. You can do this by logging into the Microsoft 365 admin center and checking your subscriptions.
    2. Download Teams: Go to the Teams download page at Download Microsoft Teams and select the appropriate version for your device (Windows, Mac, etc.). This should allow you to download the paid version associated with your subscription.
    3. Install Teams: Once downloaded, run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
    4. Sign in: After installation, open the Teams app and sign in with the account associated with your paid subscription.

If you continue to experience issues, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for assistance with your subscription and download problems.

    Hi @Susan Hawes

    Welcome to Q&A Community!

Thank you for contacting us regarding your recent purchase of a Microsoft Teams for Business subscription. I understand that the download process did not proceed as expected and that only the free version of Teams appears to be installed.

To make sure we're aligned and avoid from any misunderstanding, please let me know a few details about your issue by answering these questions:

    1. Are you signed in with a personal account (e.g., @hotmail.com, @outlook.com), an education account (e.g., @school.edu), or a work account (e.g., @yourcompany.com)? Did you use this account to purchase Teams?
    2.  Was the subscription part of a Microsoft 365 Business plan (e.g., Business Basic, Business Standard, Business Premium), or was it a standalone Teams Essentials subscription? Did you make the purchase yourself or someone else did?
    3.  Did you receive a confirmation email or invoice from Microsoft after completing the transaction?
    4.  Are you currently signed into Microsoft Teams using the same account associated with the paid subscription?

While waiting for your confirmation, kindly follow these steps to check if the purchase was successful:

    1. Verify Subscription Status

Sign in to the https://admin.microsoft.com using the account used for the purchase.

Navigate to Billing > Your Products to confirm that your subscription is active and properly assigned.

    2. Download the Correct Version of Teams

Visit the official Microsoft Teams download page and download the desktop version appropriate for your operating system.

    3. Sign In with the Correct Account

After installation, launch the Teams application and ensure you sign in using the business account tied to your subscription.

Signing in with a personal Microsoft account may default to the free version.

In case Teams still opens in the free version, try signing out, clearing the Teams cache, and reinstalling the application.

To clear Teams cache for Mac, kindly follow the instructions via Clear the Teams client cache - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn

Once you provide the requested details, I will be able to guide you further. I appreciate your patience and cooperation.
