I spent an hour "chatting" to some entities using Indian names. Are there really humans at your place or am I just talking to a machine. I want that AI off my Word NOW. Bullshit on your "chat". I want action!

    Hi,

Thank you for explaining your situation so clearly. I can imagine how frustrating it must be to spend so much time chatting without getting the answers you need. Let me help you remove the AI feature from Word.

Before we start, just to confirm, do you want to simply hide the Copilot button and AI suggestions in Word, or completely turn off all AI-related functionality across Microsoft 365? The AI feature in Word is called Copilot. It’s built into Microsoft 365 apps, but you can disable or hide it. To turn it off in Word, open the app, go to File -Options - General, and look for any Copilot or AI settings. Uncheck options like “Enable Copilot” or “Show Copilot button.

If you’re using a Microsoft 365 subscription, some AI features are tied to your account. You can sign out of your Microsoft account in Word or switch to offline mode so no AI suggestions appear. Please let me know how it goes, I’m happy to help if you need more guidance.

    Regards,

    Edward

If you're referring to the Copilot icon which appears in the lower right corner of the document window the fix already has been delivered for most versions.

Update Office to version 16.103.1 [Current Channel (Preview) or Beta Channel] If you use the standard Current Channel simply wait for the general release of that update later this month.
