I'm using the Microsoft Booking app to schedule online line manager information session but are having problems with it randomly cancelling bookings for some people when the book is manually updated e.g. when someone is added manually to the invite. Is there a fix for this?

    Hello Saan Orion,

In Microsoft Bookings, cancellations can sometimes occur when a booking is manually updated outside of the app (for example, adding attendees directly in Outlook or Teams). This happens because Bookings synchronizes with the underlying calendar, and manual changes may be interpreted as modifications to the original booking, which can trigger cancellations for some participants.

    To minimize this, I recommend:

    1. Making all attendee updates directly within the Bookings app rather than Outlook/Teams.
    2. Ensuring the staff calendar sync setting is enabled and consistent across all users.
    3. Checking that the service duration and buffer times are correctly configured, as conflicts can cause cancellations.
    4. Updating to the latest version of Bookings, since recent fixes address synchronization issues.

I hope this helps stabilize your sessions. If you found this answer helpful, please click “Accept Answer” so others can benefit too 🙂.
