Hi Team,

Users are facing intermittent issues after we migrated to Windows 11 Multi Session OS (Pooled Model) in our Azure Virtual Desktop.

  1. Black screen
  2. All Browsers Restarting automatically. Tried clearing browser cache temp files, prefetch, user profile folders but no luck. Also checked the windows update option, no pending system updates. Its annoying and causing productivity issues. can you please help ? Regards, Manoj.

    Hi Manoj Chauhan,

Thanks for sharing the details. Azure Virtual Desktop users might encounter sign-in issues that result in a black screen. There are multiple possible causes for black screens, but users can be impacted from issues synchronizing with AppReadiness, and multiple sessions signing in or out.

To check the AppReadliness issue -- Please open Event Viewer >> Windows Logs >>

    Application and check for:

    • Event ID 1000 – AppReadiness crashing

Event ID 215 – AppReadiness timeout / AppX provisioning delays

    User's image

    Reference: Microsoft-Windows-AppReadiness event ID

Run the Windows App Readiness Troubleshooter: You can access this by typing “troubleshoot” in the Start menu.

2.Restart the AppReadiness Service: Open the Services window (by typing “services” in the Start menu), find the Windows App Readiness Service, and click the “Restart” button.

    Set AppReadiness Timeout Registry Key

    PowerShell

New-ItemProperty -Path "HKLM:\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer" -Name "AppReadinessPreShellTimeoutMs" -PropertyType DWORD -Value 1000 -Force

Update FSLogix: Ensure you're on FSLogix 2210 HF3 or later. Older versions can hang while waiting for user shell readiness.

5.Update the Remote Desktop Client: Some users have reported that updating the Remote Desktop Client to the latest version resolved the issue.

I hope these steps help resolve the issue. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need assistance performing these actions.

Also, kindly check your private message and provide any requested details.
