Hi Brandon Kuhstoss,
Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand you’re trying to recover access to Minecraft after replacing your NVMe SSD and want to confirm who gifted the game. For privacy and security reasons, Microsoft Support cannot disclose account details or gift sender information. However, please check these:
Your Microsoft Purchase History. Look for the Minecraft purchase include Recipient email address and Redeem code (sent via email).
Search your inbox and Sent Items for emails containing “Minecraft gift code” and “Redeem your gift”. For the recipient, the gift email sent to the recipient will show the email address you entered for them along with the redeem code and instructions
If your son redeemed the gift, the account is tied to the email used during redemption. Please use the official recovery page: https://account.live.com/acsr. Once you confirm the account, download the launcher from https://minecraft.net/download. Sign in with the recovered account to access both Java and Bedrock editions.
If you still have the gift code, you can redeem it again on the new SSD. For further assistance, visit https://help.minecraft.net.
Note: Please follow the steps in our documentation to enable e-mail notifications if you want to receive the related email notification for this thread.
Best regards.
