Since installing the drivers and software for the SOL R4 HOTAS flight stick. Xbox controller while it says it's connected refuses to work with steam titles

As the query implies I have recently bought the SOL R4 Hands on throttle and stick or HOTAS for short. Upon installing the software and drivers for it typical install nothing went wrong until I tried to use my controller on a Steam Title. I'm connected via a usb controlled wireless connecter so I can keep my distance a little bit while playing. Rather I was doing that until this unholy mess. I have since uninstalled the soft and drivers yet the problems remain. I could really use some as I have a replacement HOTAS the X56 coming soon and I'd like this to be resolved before it gets here in the next few days.

The soft in question is downloaded specifically from Thrustmasters website Remember the Sol R4 HOTAS.

I have posted the above link to the offending soft. Can someone please tell me what to do?

    Please open your Steam Library > navigate to the game you want to play > Properties > select Controller on the left > Disable Steam Input.

    Various versions of Steam may have differ settings, so if you cannot find anything related, please give me screenshot of your Steam settings.
