Hello Jezior,
Thank you for reaching out about your activation issue after changing your motherboard I understand how frustrating it can be when Windows doesn’t activate after a hardware upgrade especially when you expected your license to be linked to your Microsoft account. This situation is quite common because Windows activation is tied to your device’s hardware and replacing the motherboard is considered a major change that can affect license validation.
When you upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 using a digital license that license is linked to both your Microsoft account and the hardware signature of your device. After a motherboard replacement Windows may not recognize the device as the same one. To resolve this make sure you are signed in with the same Microsoft account that was linked to your license. Then open Settings go to Update & Security, select Activation and run the Activation Troubleshooter. Choose the option that says “I recently changed hardware on this device.” If the troubleshooter doesn’t work you can try entering your product key manually using the Change product key option or by running the command slmgr.vbs /ipk <your-product-key> followed by slmgr.vbs /ato. If you no longer have the key and the license was retail Microsoft Support can help reassign it after verifying your purchase. If the license was OEM it cannot be transferred to new hardware.
Could you confirm if your license was retail or OEM and whether you are signed in with the same Microsoft account that was used during the upgrade?
I hope this answer is helpful if you have further questions feel free to reply back
Regards,
Marcelo
