I just manually copied all files.
Export/migrate/move OneNote notebooks from deleted account
I have an old work account that was deleted, but I have the notebooks stored locally on my Mac and they appear in the current Office 365 OneNote application.
I bought Office 2021 and need to delete the existing OneNote application and install the Office 2021 version. I'd like to migrate or move the notebooks, but I'm not seeing a way to do this. I can export each page as a PDF, but that would require quite a few mouse clicks.
I have a backup, but I'm not sure if every page is in there. I'm not able to open the .one files.
Is there an easy way to migrate all notebooks in this deleted account to my new home account?

Thanks for your message to Microsoft Q&A Forum. As mentioned earlier, since the old work account has been deleted, there isn’t a direct way to migrate notebooks automatically. The recommended approach is to open the notebooks that appear locally in your current OneNote app and manually move or copy the sections into new notebooks tied to your home account. If you have backups, you can restore them into OneNote and then re‑associate them with your new account.
Unfortunately,
.onefiles cannot be opened directly on Mac, and exporting to PDF is the only built‑in alternative if manual migration isn’t possible. Please try the solutions provided previously, as they are the only supported options in this scenario. If things still don’t work out, feel free to share an update, I’ll be happy to assist further.
