Unknown person(s) sharing files with my OneDrive

Today I received a notification that files where being shared with my OneDrive account.

Wondering what it was I logged into my OneDrive account and check Shared > Shared with me.

The file title is site 216 by person Jocyelin Holiday. I did not open it and flagged it as malware.

2 days ago I received two files from similar random persons(bot).

I thought that is was because someone had infected my phone so I did a full factory reset on it, only to have more files shared today. I have changed my Microsoft password and have 2FA set up.

How do I stop random people sharing phishing files like the above with me? I don't want to keep tagging them as malware.

    Hello Jamie Heitler,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand you’re concerned about random people sharing suspicious files with your OneDrive account.

Here are steps you can take to stop this and secure your account:

    1. Do not open or download unknown files: continue flagging them as malware.
    2. Remove shared links:
    3. Block the sender:
      • In OneDrive, click the file owner’s name and choose Block to prevent future shares.
    4. Strengthen account security:
    1. Report phishing:
    2. Check connected apps and devices:

If the issue persists, contact https://support.microsoft.com/contactus for further assistance.

Let me know how it goes.
