When I connect my iPhone to my PC using a usb cable I cannot see all the folders containing photos in explorer. What is visible seems to change day by day but it is mostly older folders. I have seen them all on a couple of occasions. The ones I can see, I can open and access the files. I have an iphone 16e with iOS 26.0.1. Photos are not in iCloud. This worked fine on my old iPhone with iOS 18 with same PC.

When connecting your iPhone to your PC, the visibility of photo folders can be affected by several factors. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check USB Connection: Ensure that the USB cable is functioning properly and that the connection is secure. Sometimes, using a different USB port or cable can resolve connectivity issues.
    2. Trust This Computer: When you connect your iPhone to the PC, make sure you select "Trust" on your iPhone when prompted. This allows your PC to access your device's content.
    3. Update Drivers: Ensure that your PC has the latest drivers installed for your iPhone. You can check for updates in the Device Manager on Windows.
    4. Restart Devices: Restart both your iPhone and your PC. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches that affect folder visibility.
    5. Check iPhone Settings: Go to your iPhone's settings and ensure that your photos are not being restricted. Make sure that the settings related to photo sharing and access are configured correctly.
    6. Use File Explorer: Open File Explorer and navigate to "This PC". Look for your iPhone under "Devices and drives". Sometimes folders may not appear in the expected locations, so exploring the device directly can help.
    7. Check for Software Updates: Ensure that both your iPhone and Windows PC are running the latest software versions. Sometimes, compatibility issues can arise from outdated software.

If the problem persists, it may be worth checking forums or support resources specific to your iPhone model and Windows version for additional solutions.
