All of a sudden My Edge Browser has stopped working on both my pcs. I have tried everything but when I click on it a blank page comes up with some info that says it is not connected to but all my links at the top of the page are still working just nothing from the home page. I can use another browser and it works just fine but copilot and all the info on my home page are not there anymore. It is the same on another pc the is hooked to my KVM system

I work for an MSP. I'm seeing this on several PCs now. Completely different networks and M365 tenants. I've disabled InTune Edge management, reset/repaired, reinstalled, ran sfc and DISM, reset flags, removed extensions, etc. Same issue- InPrivate works fine, other browsers work fine. I've moved users Favorites to Chrome as a workaround. It happens on multiple profiles on the same PCs as well, so it's definitely something broken in Edge.

It sounds like you are experiencing issues with Microsoft Edge on both of your PCs, where the browser opens to a blank page and does not display the expected content. Here are some potential reasons and solutions for this issue:

    1. Network Connection: Ensure that your PCs are connected to the internet. Sometimes, a temporary network issue can cause browsers to fail to load content.
    2. Browser Cache and Data: Clearing the cache and cookies in Edge may resolve issues with loading pages. You can do this by going to Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data.
    3. Extensions: Sometimes, browser extensions can interfere with page loading. Try disabling any extensions you have installed to see if that resolves the issue.
    4. Profile Issues: There may be a problem with your user profile. You can try creating a new user profile in Edge to see if that resolves the issue.
    5. Updates: Ensure that Microsoft Edge is updated to the latest version. Sometimes, bugs in older versions can cause functionality issues.
    6. Known Issues: There may be known issues with specific versions of Microsoft Edge. For example, users have reported problems with certain features or settings that may affect how Edge operates. You can check for any high-impact issues related to your version of Edge in the Microsoft documentation.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to consider reinstalling Microsoft Edge or checking for any system updates that might affect the browser's performance.

    Hello,

Since it started on both PCs at the same time, the most likely cause is an extension or a synced setting blocking the Microsoft Start new tab page that powers the Edge home and Copilot panel. Let's try one fix that often restores it right away.

Open Edge, select the three dots in the top right, go to Help and feedback, then choose Troubleshooting mode. Edge will restart with all extensions and custom settings temporarily disabled. After it restarts, press Ctrl+T to open a new tab and wait a few seconds to see if the home page content and Copilot return.

If the home page now works, exit Troubleshooting mode, then go to edge://extensions in the address bar. Turn all extensions off, turn them back on one by one, and open a new tab after each until the problem returns. Leave the problematic extension off or remove it. That should keep Edge stable on both PCs because the change will sync.

If the home page is still blank while in Troubleshooting mode, tell me exactly what you see on the page and I will give you the next step to fix it.

What I have found in my troubleshooting:

    • Deleting/renaming \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data will allow the user to load pages but will fail on the second load
    • Our default local user account appears to work every time.
    • In-Private works every time
    • Disabling endpoint protection, web filtering, etc. makes no difference
    • Clearing/rebuilding the user's cloud profile makes no difference

I think it has something to do with user profile corruption after the sync. That's my best guess, anyway, without digging into verbose logging.
