Windows 10 works different then Windows 11. When you plug-in your headset, go to settings, system, sound. You should be able to see your headset there and select it (if not selected).

With my old laptop (Win 10) when I plugged in my usb headsets a menu would pop up that recognized the headphones and I would simply click the ;headphone' and the sound would be heard through the headsets. On my new laptop (Win 11) this does not occur. There is no pop up box each time I plug in the USB headphones. I've tried plugging them in into each of the two USB ports and nothing happens.

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum. I'm happy to help.Both Windows 10 and Windows 11 do not appear any popup while an audio device plugged in a computer. The popup you see on Windows 10 probably comes from an application. It might be headset's manufactural application, or laptop manufactural application, or a 3rd-party audio application. So, you just need to find what application it is, then install it to your Windows 11 laptop.
If the application comes from the laptop manufacturer, it may only work on your Windows 11 laptop unless the other Windows 10 laptop is the same brand. In that case, check your Windows 11 support page to see if they offer an application with similar functionality.
