Clipchamp is not recording video when I select Screen. I set the mic to the correct input. This is so frustrating and I'm going to stop using Clipchamp because of it. I can't spend ten minutes recording a video only to find out it has no audio.

If Clipchamp is not recording audio when you select the screen recording option, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check Microphone Settings: Ensure that the correct microphone is selected in Clipchamp settings. Sometimes, the default microphone may not be the one you intend to use.
    2. Browser Permissions: Make sure that your browser has permission to access the microphone. You can check this in your browser's settings.
    3. Audio Input: Verify that the microphone is working correctly outside of Clipchamp. You can test it with another application to ensure it is capturing audio.
    4. Restart Clipchamp: Sometimes, simply restarting the application can resolve temporary issues.
    5. Update Browser: Ensure that your browser is up to date, as outdated versions can cause compatibility issues with web applications like Clipchamp.
    6. Clear Cache: Clearing your browser's cache may help resolve any lingering issues that could be affecting audio recording.

If none of these steps work, consider reaching out to Clipchamp support for further assistance.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting the Microsoft community and sharing the issue you are experiencing with ClipChamp not recording audio. I would like to assist you with this matter. To better understand the situation, could you please confirm whether, when you initiate the screen recording in Clipchamp, the microphone input level fluctuates, or does it remain static despite having selected the appropriate microphone? Are you utilizing Clipchamp through a web browser or the desktop application? Additionally, have you granted the necessary permissions for microphone and screen recording in your browser or operating system settings?

In the meantime, you may consider the following steps,

Check browser permissions: If you are using Clipchamp in a web browser, ensure that the site has been granted permission to access your microphone and screen. In Chrome or Edge, click the lock icon in the address bar to verify that microphone access is permitted.

Verify input settings in Clipchamp: Ensure that the correct microphone is selected in the recording panel prior to starting the recording.

Update or switch browsers: Clipchamp functions optimally in Microsoft Edge or Chrome. If you are using a different browser, consider switching to one of these.

Clear cache or restart Clipchamp, Occasionally, cached settings can lead to issues. Clearing the cache or restarting the application or browser may resolve the problem.

Test with a short recording first: Before engaging in a lengthy session, conduct a brief 10-second test recording to verify that audio is being captured.

Please inform me if this information is helpful or if you require further clarification; I am more than willing to help!

    Best regards,

    Edward
