Hi @Racicot F,
Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Thank you for your detailed question, I can understand why you want the calendar to start on Sunday, especially if other teams in your organization already see that layout.
In the new Calendar view for Microsoft Lists (SharePoint), the first day of the week isn’t a per‑view setting. It’s controlled by regional settings, either at the site level or by a user’s personal Language & region preferences (if they choose to override the site). That’s why two teams can see different week starts: they’re likely working on sites (or with user overrides) that use different locale settings.
Here are a few options you can choose:
Option 1: Change the site’s regional settings (requires Site Owner)
- Open the SharePoint site that hosts your list.
- Select Settings (gear) > Site information > View all site settings.
- Choose Regional settings.
- Set Locale to one that uses Sunday (e.g., English (United States)) and set First day of week to Sunday.
- Save, then refresh your list’s Calendar view.
This updates the default for everyone unless users have a personal override.

Option 2: Use your personal Language & region override (no admin needed)
On the same SharePoint site:
- Select Settings (gear) > Language and region.
- Turn on Always use my personal settings.
- Set Region/Locale (e.g., English (United States)) and set First day of week to Sunday.
- Save and refresh the Calendar view.
Personal overrides take precedence over the site’s defaults for that site.

Option 3: If you access the list via the Microsoft Lists app
The Lists app respects the same SharePoint Language & region preferences. Make sure your personal settings (above) are set the way you want, then reopen the list.
- After changing settings, give it a minute and refresh the page (or open in a new tab).
- If your site is connected to a hub, check whether regional settings are managed centrally.
- If the “other team” is on a different site/site collection, they can have different defaults even within the same tenant.
If you've tried all the above options and still don’t see Sunday first:
- Confirm the exact site hosting your list (the URL) and whether your personal override is enabled on that site.
- Ask a Site Owner (or your SharePoint admin) to verify the site’s regional settings and hub inheritance.
- If the setting appears correct but the Calendar view doesn’t update, you can ask your IT admin to open a support ticket directly to Microsoft:
Your IT admin can create a support ticket by sign in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center following steps from this link: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn to raise a support ticket from admin center or calling the phone support to contact Microsoft Support: Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support. You can look for the way to find your admin through this link: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support.
