Hi Meli, that error usually means there’s leftover update files from a previous attempt that are blocking the new one. Even if nothing looks like it’s running, the system still thinks an update is in progress. The quickest fix is to clear the Windows Update cache and restart the update service. You can do this by opening Command Prompt as admin and running these commands one by one: net stop wuauserv, net stop bits, then go to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution and delete its contents, then run net start wuauserv and net start bits. After that, reboot and try the update again. If it still fails, I’d check if you have any pending restart flags in Settings > Windows Update, or if there’s a third-party antivirus that might be interfering.
trying to download windows 11 update 24H2, getting error 0xc1900107
I'm trying to download and install 24H2 but it gets to about 8% downloaded and stops saying "We can't install some updates because other updates are in progress. We will try installing later." As far as I know, I don't have any other downloads in process. The Download history says it's error 0xc1900107. I've used the Disk Cleanup tool, I've checked for room on the disk (167GB free), I've run all of the security tools for malware (found nothing) and I've restarted many times. (I've also tried to download Windows 11 ISO and also get an error message: We encountered a problem processing your request. Please try again later.
