For some reason my outlook stopped working on my computer. I had office 2007 installed and things were running fine. i don't know what happened but now new outlook won't work...i uninstalled office 2007 as i was told it may be causing a conflict. I uninstalled the new outlook and removed traces from task manager, i restarted my computer then reinstalled outlook but it still won't load. i opened task manager and start outlook and three files start console window host, outlook and xpdagent and then it closes. i also did an sfc .scannnow and a dism image scan but nothing came up. My browser based outlook works fine so it pc related somehow

Thanks for sharing the details, Ray! Try to delete the Hidden Account Token Store (IdentityCache)

New Outlook uses a hidden identity token folder. If a token becomes invalid, Outlook closes the moment it starts.

    • Close Outlook
    • Press Win + R and enter:
      %localappdata%\Microsoft\IdentityCache
    • Delete everything in this folder
    • Restart your computer
    • Launch Outlook again

This forces Outlook to rebuild your identity and is extremely effective when no errors appear.

See if this helps. If you need further assistance just let me know.

    Best regards,

    Kimberly

That's strange. Please answer these questions for me.

    • Are you signing into Windows with a Microsoft account or a local account?
    • Do you have the folder: C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy (Yes/No)
    • Did New Outlook ever open on this machine before?
    • Do you use any third-party antivirus (Avast, AVG, McAfee, Bitdefender)?

Reset your New Outlook for Windows profile.

Deletes all local configuration files and cache. Resets the application to a first-run state. You will have to add back all of your email accounts. (Does not touch your Outlook data. e.g. email, contacts, calendar).

Open a Windows Run dialog. Using either the Windows Logo Key + r (Win+r), or from the Start menu search for "Run". In the Run dialog box type, or copy/paste, the command into the "Open:" text box and click [OK].

    RUN  %LocalAppData%\Microsoft
    User's image

In the Windows Explorer that opens, right-click the Olk folder and Rename it to Olk_OLD

    User's imageUser's image

If this doesn't fix the problem, you can revert to your previous configuration by deleting the Olk folder and renaming the Olk_OLD folder back to Olk.

I’m really glad to hear you got it working again, and your solution actually makes perfect sense for the symptoms you were seeing.
