MICROSOFT PARENTAL CONSENT

I was trying to log into minecraft because I wanted to play. I was curious because it didn't log me in automatically with my account, I had to sign in, which was weird. When I logged in using my regular account, this parental consent window kept popping up. It said I was below the age of 13, when in fact I was older than 13. I tried logging in using my accounts, trying to accept the parental consent stuff. When I did use my other email to confirm, it kept me stuck to an endless loop of logging in. It logged me out of every device, and the loop was endless. I was so frustrated and annoyed I had to make a new account, making my age super exaggerated just for the system to finally accept it. This is so annoying, you know! I was stuck for 15 mins on that loop! Fix this problem because it's an inconvenience. This isn't the first time this happened to my accounts. This also happened to my other account, locking me out because I was apparently under 13, even though I'm older. Find a solution to this problem. It's really annoying.

Hello, I'm Quinn and here to help!

Try this step-by-step guide to fix:

    1. On the parental consent prompt, choose "I’m not a parent or guardian."
    2. Select "A parent or guardian can sign in to complete my account setup."
    3. Have a different Microsoft account—one that isn’t affected by the loop—sign in as the parent. This adult account needs to approve the request and place your account into their Microsoft Family group.
    4. After that, open Family Settings, find the child account that’s stuck, click the three dots next to it, and choose Manage consent.
    5. From there, select Edit this child’s info, update the birthdate to an age of 18 or older, and save the changes.
    6. Finally, visit https://family.microsoft.com, sign in with the parent account again, open the options (three dots) beside the child account,
    7. Choose Remove from family group to disconnect it completely.

If issue still persists, you can contact Xbox Support directly at https://support.xbox.com/contact-us/emerald as they have more resources and can provide direct assistance with accounts.
