Why does my Copilot Studio chatbot still show old Suggested Prompts after publishing the new version?

I am working with Copilot Studio and have an issue with Suggested Prompts under the Overview section. Initially, I created prompts in version 1.0. Later, I edited them, updated to version 2.0, and published successfully. However, on the actual chatbot product, it still displays the old version (1.0) of the prompts instead of the updated version (2.0).

I have already tried refreshing the chatbot and clearing the browser cache, but the problem persists. It seems like the Suggested Prompts are not updating correctly after publishing.

Questions:

  • Why does the chatbot still show the old prompts after publishing the new version?
  • Is this a caching issue or something related to the publishing process?
  • How can I ensure the Suggested Prompts are updated properly on the chatbot?

Any guidance or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Ta Truc,
Updates to Suggested Prompts in Copilot Studio often don’t appear right away due to caching (browser, Teams/M365 Copilot service, CDN) and persistent user sessions that keep old configurations. Publishing usually works—the delay is caused by sync and propagation across Microsoft 365 Copilot and Teams.

To fix it: verify Save + Publish, hard-refresh or clear Teams cache, restart the chat session, republish or re-add channels, and allow time for global sync. Best practices include versioning updates, disabling the Conversation Start topic if needed, and testing changes first in the Microsoft 365 Copilot web experience.
