Unable to connect Azure SQL database as Knowledge for Copilot Agent in Copilot Agent Studio

I've been attempting to create and connect an Azure SQL database as a Knowledge source for a Copilot Agent and before getting to any connection options, it shows an error message "There was a problem connecting to Azure SQL.".
There are no details beyond this and all other knowledge sources I've tried have been working. Please help me understand what is going on.
I create an Agent in Copilot Studio:
Once created I navigate to the Knowledge tab:
Select Azure SQL from the popup:
See this error and nothing else:
Anyone know what is going on here?
