Hi Handian Sudianto ,
Thanks for reaching out Microsoft Q&A forum,
It looks like you're facing an issue with deleting your blob container due to the ImmutableStorageWithVersioning setting. This setting generally protects the container from being deleted to comply with data retention requirements.
Here’s what you can do to resolve this:
- Check Immutability Policy: Since the container is protected by an immutable policy, you’ll need to review any legal holds or retention policies that might be in place. You may need to remove any legal holds, if applicable, or let the retention period expire.
- Use Azure Portal or PowerShell:
- If you have the right permissions, you can manage or view the immutability settings in the Azure portal.
- You can also use PowerShell with the
Remove-AzStorageContainercmdlet, but remember that the container must not have any legal holds or active retention policies.
- Delete Blobs First: Make sure there are no blobs left inside the container—delete all blobs within the container before trying to delete the container itself.
- Permissions: Double-check if you have the necessary permissions (
Storage Blob Data Contributoror higher) to perform deletion actions.
If you're unsure about the immutability policy or how to check/delete it, you can check out the following resources for more information:
- Managed blob immutable policies
- Configure RBAC for your storage account
- Remove-AzStorageContainer documentation
**Update:
**After discussing through offline, The time retention policy is applied to blobs until january 2 2026.
Once the policy expires you can delete the blob.
Hope this helps! If you're still stuck or if you have any follow-up questions, feel free to ask!
