Unable to print via USB on Brother HL-L52000DW from Windows 11 after recent release of MS Windows. Any attempt to print from an Office App or directly from the internet results in an error and the printer goes into Sleep mode.

Printer worked on earlier release of Windows 11. I am running on a Lenovo Thinkpad Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 7 268V (2.20 GHz), have Windows 11 25H2 and most recent printer driver installed. I have turned off the printer, unplugged it, and turned it on again. I have also removed the printer and added it again in Settings. Appears problem introduced with a recent MS release.

It seems you are experiencing issues printing via USB on your Brother HL-L52000DW after a recent Windows 11 update. This type of problem has been reported by users after installing certain updates, particularly after updates like KB5003690 or later, which affected various printers connected via USB.

To resolve this, you can try the following steps:

    1. Ensure you have the latest drivers: Verify that you are using the most recent drivers for your Brother printer. Sometimes, using the same version of the driver on both the print client and print server can help.
    2. Known Issue Rollback (KIR): Microsoft has implemented a Known Issue Rollback for certain printing issues. Ensure that your system is updated with the latest patches that might resolve this issue.
    3. Check printer settings: Make sure that the printer is set as the default printer and that there are no pending print jobs that might be causing the printer to go into sleep mode.
    4. Test with another USB port or cable: Sometimes, changing the USB port or using a different USB cable can help resolve connectivity issues.
    5. Power cycle the printer: Although you mentioned you have already done this, ensure that the printer is fully powered off and unplugged for a few minutes before turning it back on.

If the issue persists, consider checking for any additional updates or patches from Microsoft that may address this specific printing problem.

    Hi JoAnne,

By any chance, did you install the updates released on Tuesday? That might be a root cause of the issue. I can suggest uninstalling that and checking afterwards.

To remove the most recent update, please follow these steps to access the Windows Recovery environment:

    1. Open the Settings app by pressing the Win + I keys.
    2. Navigate to System > Recovery.
    3. Click the ""Restart Now"" button next to Advanced Startup.
    4. Choose the Troubleshoot option.
    5. Select ""Uninstall Updates,"" then choose either ""Uninstall Latest Quality Update"" or ""Uninstall Latest Cumulative Update.""

    Allow the process to complete.
