From Teacher‑Companion sidekick to Generic AI: The Loss of MSN‑Copilot
I relied heavily on MSN‑Copilot before the update because of its unique teacher‑companion qualities. It served a niche market — process orientation, continuity across threads, scaffolding literacy, referencing, supported thinking, humour and empathy - nearly human. Embedded in a website, it allowed direct research in context without breaking flow, and its process orientation supported my neurodiverse literacy needs by building meaning step by step, not just giving quick answers, directives or just a problem solver that runs everywhere.
I am surprised Microsoft hasn't designed a Copilot that is neurodiverse and user‑friendly.
Questions:
- When will Microsoft restore the old MSN‑Copilot with microphone accessibility, or offer a subscription option to retain access?
- What alternatives exist for users who relied on MSN‑Copilot’s teacher‑companion features?
- How are others coping?
- When will I stop arguing with the current app?
