New Outlook Rollout Is A New Low

I'm really unhappy with the new Outlook. I can't customize sender and subject lines in a single string format for easy sorting or review anymore. I don't know where the logic is in this rollout. It seems non-existent.

Why has so much useful customization been taken away from the user? As it is, I'm getting so frustrated with it there's a good chance I won't use it at all soon. I'll be better off saving time by transferring my email to another application entirely. Doesn't make any sense on the part of Microsoft -- unless the point is to discourage Outlook's use. If the plan is to phase out Outlook over time, this new rollout is stupendous. If the plan is to enhance Outlook to further improve user experience -- you've failed in a big way.

    Hello,

Are you speaking of these issues compared to the Classic Outlook? If so, Classic Outlook is not going away. It continues to be the paid version of email client app that comes with subscription. If you have Microsoft 365, you don't want to switch to the new Outlook since new Outlook is the free and lighter version of email app, hence the lack of many features.

The new Outlook for Windows has undergone significant changes, including a shift towards a more streamlined and integrated experience. However, this has resulted in some customization features being altered or removed, which can be frustrating for users who relied on those functionalities for sorting and reviewing emails effectively.

Microsoft's approach with the new Outlook focuses on delivering updates and features more rapidly, allowing for critical updates to be deployed within hours rather than days or weeks. This shift is part of a broader strategy to enhance the user experience through improved performance and reliability, but it may not align with every user's needs or preferences.

If you find that the new Outlook does not meet your requirements, it might be worth exploring other email applications that offer the customization options you are looking for. Microsoft continues to update Outlook, so feedback from users like you can be valuable in shaping future enhancements.
