Last October my One drive subscriptrion ended, so I lost access to my uploaded photos and videos on the One Drive. How can I recover these items even if I have to subscribe the drive again, my Office is 2021.

To recover access to your photos and videos that were on OneDrive after your subscription ended, you will need to reactivate your Microsoft 365 subscription. Once your subscription is active again, you should be able to access your OneDrive content, including any uploaded photos and videos.

If you had deleted any files, you might also want to check the OneDrive recycle bin, as deleted files are kept for a designated time before being permanently deleted. For work or school accounts, deleted files are purged after 93 days unless configured otherwise.

Thanks for sharing the details, Hélio! Re-subscribe or Buy Additional OneDrive Storage (Cheaper Alternative)

You do not need Microsoft 365 or Office 365 to restore your files.

You may simply buy OneDrive Standalone 100GB (~US$1.99/month — often the cheapest recovery option).

Once you have enough storage quota again:

    • OneDrive automatically unlocks all your files
    • Your photos and videos should reappear normally

If you cannot re-subscribe now, there is a special recovery workflow for expired storage accounts:

    https://account.live.com/recover

This sometimes triggers a temporary unlock even without paying, allowing you to:

    • Download all your files locally
    • OR transfer them to another cloud

See if this helps. If you need further assistance just let me know.

    Best regards,

    Kimberly
