Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.
If you receive "That verification method isn't working right now. Please try another method.'- Wait for 24 hours before signing in again. Sometimes waiting a day can be enough to remove a block. Don't make lots of repeated attempts, as this may reset the time lock.
Another option is to connect your device to a different Wi-Fi network, such as Mobile hotspot one, and see if you can get the verification code.
For reference, see:
Troubleshoot Microsoft account verification code issues
If you're still having issues, I recommend using the account recovery form to regain access.
Remember to use a familiar device from which you've frequently accessed your Microsoft account, as well as a familiar location. Microsoft will review your responses and respond within 24 hours. If you are verified, instructions on how to log back into your account will be sent to you, and if you are not verified, you will need to submit the Account Recovery form again. You can do this up to 2 times every 24 hours.
In addition to that, submit the account reinstatement form directly to the Microsoft digital safety team using the link below. They will review if the account can be reinstated again.
