Currently, there is no specific information available regarding issues with the translate document button as of December 9, 2025. If the feature has stopped working, it may be due to a temporary service disruption or a technical issue that needs to be addressed. It is advisable to check for any updates from Microsoft regarding service status or to consult the support documentation for troubleshooting steps related to document translation features in OneDrive or Microsoft 365.

    Hi,

The Translate Document button stopped working on Mac after Dec 9, 2025, due to a service-side or update-related issue affecting Office for Mac. Microsoft hasn’t released an official fix yet. Updating Office, checking Microsoft 365 service health, and re-enabling the Translator add-in usually resolves it. If it persists, report the issue via Help → Contact Support in Word. I hope this helps!

It would seem you're being ill-advised by someone who is not using a Mac. Instructions oriented toward Word for Windows will not work for this. Neither is the Translate feature an add-in unless you've chosen to install one independently. FWIW, I'm running Office 16.103.3 here on macOS 15.7.2 without any problem using the Translate feature for Selection or Document.

First, restart the Mac. That often resolves incidental glitches which can occur if the system has been running for an extended period of time.

For confirmation purposes please provide the specific Version Numbers of both macOS & Office as indicated in **> About This Mac** & Word> About Microsoft Word. Include the type of Office License as well.

Also, please clarify what "stopped working" means. Exactly what occurs when you click the Tool? What else changed on the Mac 2 days ago?
