In Forms, when rearranging choices in a questions answer, it turns the text of the choice into a copy of whatever choice I drag it above. I have to refresh the page to see the old text again. This happens every time I rearrange the choices now.

    Hi @Anthony P,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for contacting us and providing the details regarding the issue you are experiencing in Microsoft Forms. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused and appreciate you bringing it to our attention.

I understand that when you try to rearrange choices in a question by dragging and dropping, the text of the moved choice temporarily changes to match the choice above the new position. After refreshing the page, the original text returns. This behavior occurs every time you rearrange choices.

Please rest assured this is a temporary display glitch caused by the drag-and-drop interface reusing cached text or browser rendering issues; your actual data remains intact and will appear correctly after refreshing the page.

Given this situation, here are my recommended workarounds, which I hope will be helpful to you:

1/ Use the “Move up/Move down” arrows instead of drag-and-drop (the arrows are located on the right side of each choice). This helps reduce the risk of incorrect rendering.

2/ Clear your browser’s cache and cookies:

    • Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data.
    • User's image

3/ Disable extensions, especially those related to UI/DOM (such as ad-blockers, grammar checkers, accessibility tools), and then try again.

    • In Microsoft Edge, select Extensions located to the right of your browser address bar, then select Manage extensions.
    • User's image
    • Select the toggle next to the extension you want to turn off.

4/ Try a different browser (Edge, Chrome, Firefox) or use InPrivate/Incognito mode to rule out configuration issues.

5/ Duplicate the form and test on the copy to see if the glitch persists.

    6/ Contact Microsoft Support

If the issue persists even after these steps, it may stem from a deeper system-level cause. In this case, I recommend contacting your organization's IT administrator, who can submit a support request to Microsoft through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. They’ll be able to access system-level information to investigate the issue thoroughly and provide assistance. At the very least, they can offer the most effective workaround to ensure your experience remains smooth and secure.

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to assist you.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this.
