Redemption of Product Key purchased in India

I purchased a laptop in Kuwait and also purchased Microsoft 365 subscription there, which has expired now. I have moved to India from Kuwait. I have purchased Microsoft 365 in India through FPC Retail and got Product Key, but not in a position to redeem.

When I put the Product Key it gives message, "sorry product key not recognized." I have also changed the region in my current account as India (it was earlier Kuwait). I referred this issue to FPC Retail, and they advised to contact Microsoft Technical Team.

The subscription which has expired on 12/12/2025 only provides renewal option.

Request the team to advise how to resolve this issue.

To resolve the issue with redeeming your Microsoft 365 product key purchased in India, follow these steps:

    1. Check Regional Settings: Ensure that your Microsoft account region is set to India, which you have already done. Sometimes, it may take a little while for the changes to reflect.
    2. Use the Correct Redemption Link: Use the official Microsoft link for redeeming product keys. You can find it by searching for "redeem Microsoft 365 product key" on the Microsoft website or directly in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
    3. Verify Product Key: Double-check that the product key you received is entered correctly. Ensure there are no typos or incorrect characters.
    4. Contact Microsoft Support: If the product key is still not recognized, it may be best to contact Microsoft Support directly for assistance. They can provide specific help regarding product key issues and account settings.
    5. Consider Expired Subscription: Since your previous subscription expired, ensure that it is not affecting the redemption of the new product key. Sometimes, expired subscriptions may cause issues with new activations.

If you continue to experience issues, it may be necessary to escalate the matter with Microsoft Support for further investigation.

    Hello, Ashok Singh.

Log in to your Microsoft account on the page https://support.microsoft.com/en-US/home/contact?SourceApp=smc2&ContactUsExperienceEntryPointAssetId=www.microsoft.com

In the search bar, type (without quotes) "agent support" and press Enter or click on Get Help. Ignore the search results, and click on the "Contact Support" button at the bottom. On the next page, select "Microsoft 365 and Office" and "Technical Support" from the drop-down lists, and then click on "Confirm". Next, select the chat "Chat with a support agent in your web browser" and on the next page enter your (the one that works) email address and click on "Confirm". A chat window will open in a new tab. Wait for the operator to respond and explain the situation to him.

Note. The chat is available during business hours and on business days according to US time.
