Hello,

I was used in Win10 and earlier to access folders quickly within the file explorer by typing in the address bar. That was extremely handy if you had thousands of folders. Now, with Win11 that is very slow and not handy at all anymore. I would like to get that functionality back.

Thank you for your help!

Bernd

    Hi,

There have been reports confirming that File Explorer in Windows 11 is noticeably slower than in Windows 10. Microsoft has acknowledged the issue and is actively working on performance improvements. These fixes are currently available in build 26220.7271, and hopefully the problem will be resolved once this update reaches the stable release.

For the meantime, you can try reverting to the Windows 10 File Explorer by using this free third-party tool and check whether the functionality you need works as expected after switching.
